Studio Policy
2025-26 Norwalk School of Music Policies
Single lessons are charged a higher rate than monthly and semester tuition. They are booked no more than 1 week in advance and must be paid for at the time of booking. Single lessons MAY NOT be canceled, rescheduled or refunded.
-
Payment for monthly tuition will be charged to the student’s credit/debit card or PayPal account on the same day each month. This payment will recur automatically until a student opts out of private lessons. NO REFUND WILL BE OFFERED ONCE THE MONTHLY SESSION HAS BEGUN.
-
Students also have the option to pay for an entire 3 month season in cash for the lowest rate.
-
Tuition is a flat fee each month or semester. This rate is based on 48 lessons offered throughout the year divided over 12 months. My studio is closed for (4) weeks each year.
Thanksgiving weekend, Winter Break, Spring Break, and Summer Vacation -
Monthly rates are the same whether students attend lessons or not. The school has specific time reserved for each student, thus full payment must be made regardless of attendance. This includes students’ illness, holidays, vacations, etc.
-
The school must be notified at least 1-hour in advance if a student will not attend their lesson or the lesson will be lost. No-Shows CANNOT be credited, rescheduled, or refunded.
-
A student is allowed 1 “Make-Up” per season (2 in the summer). Any open slot on the calendar may be reserved for a make-up lesson but a decision must be made at least 30 days after the original lesson was scheduled to occur. Otherwise, the student forfeits their make-up lesson. It is the responsibility of the student or parent to check the calendar concerning rescheduling. Finding a day and time is not guaranteed.
Semester Dates: Fall (Sept 1 - Nov 30) Winter (Dec 1 - Feb 28)
Spring (Mar - May 31) Summer (Jun 1 - Aug 31)
-
A make-up lesson cannot be rescheduled. Once a date has been reserved, it is final.
-
If the school cancels a lesson, we can attempt to reschedule or refund the lesson amount from the next month’s payment.
-
Lesson cancellations and rescheduling should be done using the calendar page online. Contact the school directly for permanent or seasonal time changes.
-
If a student is more than 10 minutes late for a lesson without notification, the school has the right to terminate that (1) scheduled lesson.
-
Lessons terminated for tardiness cannot be made up or refunded.
-
Lessons will not be taught on the following holidays but can be rescheduled: Labor Day, Memorial Day, & Independence Day. A 90-Day make-up credit will be given for each.
-
Snow Days - The studio will be closed for "in-person" lessons in accordance with the city of Norwalk in the event of inclement weather. All lessons will be held at their normal time online. Parents and students will be notified via email the evening before or the morning of (depending on when Norwalk makes it’s announcement). Students will have the option to take a 30-day make-up credit intead of meeting online.
